Based on Haidong Gumdo which I have a black belt obtained in Korea, I will happily teach all levels up to black belt
The advantage of this art is that most of the patterns used are available on youtube making home study entirely feasible
These classes are available standalone or as cross training with our martial arts or boxing program and is open to all ages
After a free trial lesson a standalone price for sword training would be $200 for 10 classes and includes a Samurai Sword like pictured above

Haidong Gumdo is the ancient Korean martial art of sword fighting. During the Goguryo Kingdom, Master Sul Bong established a Dojang by Sam Ji Lake in the Baekdoo Mountain (AD 331) and taught his apostles a martial art based on the ideas of patriotism, filial piety, respecting the elderly and executing righteousness. The principle of Haidong Gumdo is to execute justice with the 'sword light' that is obtained at the break of day from majestic and brilliant sunlight that glows over the east sea. The sword is a perfect metaphor for the spirit of humanity. It is both enemy and ally, capable of protecting us and destroying us. Controlled, it can be a wonder to behold. Wild, it is a terror. The sword can be defined as faith and justice helping to improve both mind and body. It can help cut out all temptations and bad habits and make our lives healthier. All prospective students must have a private introductory lesson with Sensei Joe before attending a group class.
